What types of earrings do you use?
1) For babies and children : pure, homogenous, medical-grade titanium and medical-grade plastic earrings which are both considered the safest hypoallergenic earrings to use. For babies and children, you may switch into 14k/18k gold earrings after the initial 6-8 weeks. (We do not pierce babies with gold because, although rare, they may have a sensitivity to the alloys used in gold jewelry. A sensitivity to a medical-grade material is far less likely to occur.)
2) For teens and adults : medical-grade titanium, medical-grade plastic or 14k/18k gold.
Materials NEVER used or recommended for initial piercings: stainless steel, gold plated, gold filled, gold vermeil, sterling silver.
